Our Aged Care Strategy Comparison Calculator shows the Day One impact of cost of care and then allows you to build upon this with different strategies to build the most appropriate Aged Care Financial Strategy.

Built to demonstrate both grandfathered residents, those who entered care after 1 November 2025 and anything in between.

It takes into consideration government subsidies, Centrelink Age Pension entitlements and the impact of clients being classified as either Low Means Residents or Fully Supported Residents.

It clearly shows the impact of RAD retention rates and indexing of the DAP and allows you to compare both options to determine impacts of change of classifications.

This takes the guess work out of determining the benefits of strategies and the impacts of remaining a RAD paying resident versus being a low means resident.  Utilising our aged care calculator will help to navigate the complexity of aged care advice with ease and allow for advisers and residents to make well informed choices.

NOTE: This calculator considers the Australian Tax & Social Security Rules and may not be an appropriate tool for use outside of Australia.

The calculator includes:

  • Comparison of Day One position to 4 alternative strategies.
  • Improvement of cashflow and reduction of aged care fees are calculated.
  • Estimation of when means tested fee caps are met
  • Comparison of grandfathered MTF fees compared to post 1 November hotelling contributions and NCCC.
  • See exactly how much retention is applicable over 5 years, so residents can see how much RAD will be refunded.
  • See how long a paid up Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) will sustain a drawdown of DAP
  • Calculation of Refundable Accommodation Deposit vs Daily Accommodation Payment and the impact of recently introduced DAP indexing.
  • Identifying Low Means and Fully Supported Residents and any associated RACs or DACs.
  • Centrelink Age Pension Comparisons and rent assistance estimator
  • Impacts of changes to the Care Providers Accommodation Supplement for low means residents
  • Impacts of having a protected person in the home
  • Assessable income for income test including CSS pension, annuities and deemed income

It includes detailed charts:
1. Total Aged Care Fees
2. DAP from RAD from individual strategies plus combined graph
3. RAD Retention rates

Purchase will generate an instant file to download and contains a link to our instructional video.

The outputs are easy to read, professionally designed and quick to use.

Note changes to aged care fees and caps can occur on 20th March and 20th September annually.  Please bare this in mind when purchasing our calculators.
